Huo Wei, male, born on February 25, 1957, is mainly engaged in the research on the Han and Tang Dynasties archeology, art archeology, Tibetan archeology, art history and science of cultural relics, and Sino-foreign cultural exchanges. As a professor of Archeology and Museology majors, and a doctoral supervisor, he currently holds such positions as the Dean of Sichuan University’s School of History and Culture, the Curator of Sichuan University Museum, and the Director of the Institute for Tibetan Studies, a key research base for humanities and social science under the Ministry of Education; he concurrently serves as Visiting Professor at the Institute of Archeology under the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Jilin University, Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts, the International Research Center for Japanese Studies under Japan’s Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, City University of Hong Kong; he also hold a number of academic posts like the Director of the Society for Chinese Archeology, Vice President of Sichuan Historical Society and Vice Director General of Sichuan Museum Society; in the meantime, he is appointed as academic member of the Senior Title Assessment Committee of Sichuan’s Higher Learning Institutions, academic member of the Senior Title Assessment Committee of Sichuan’s Cultural Relics, Museology and Archeology System, and member of the Academic Committee of History Discipline, Sichuan University.
