Lu Hongliang, was born in Jingchuan County, Gansu Province ,October 1977. He received Bachelor (2000), Master (2003) and Ph.D (2007) degrees from the Department of Archeology, Sichuan University. Since 2008, he has been teaching at SCU’s Department of Archeology as lecturer (2008-2010), associate professor (2010-2015), and professor (July 2015) successively. Since 2010, he has served as Deputy Director of the Department of Archeology and editor of the journal Southern Ethnology and Archaeology. His research interests mainly focus on prehistoric archeology, with a special interest on the Tibetan Plateau and the mountainous areas in southwestern China. He once served as visiting scholar at Macdonald Institute of Archeology, University of Cambridge (February 2012 to July 2012), Harvard-Yenching Institute at Harvard University (August 2009-August 2010), and as a research assistant at the Centre for Chinese Archaeology and Art, the Chinese University of Hong Kong (2003-2005, 2006-2007).
