Shi Shuo, male, was born in October 1957. He serves as Deputy Director, professor and doctoral supervisor of the Institute for Tibetan Studies, a key research base for humanities and social science under the Ministry of Education, expert of the assessment group of nationalities group under the National Social Science Fund of China (NSSFC), assessment expert of the "Tibetan History and Present state Comprehensive Research" Project specially entrusted by the NSSFC, Vice Chairman of the Southwest Nationalities Society of China, Vice Chairman of Southwest China Ethnic Association vice president, Executive Director of the Association of Chinese Ethnology, and member of the Ethnology Teaching Steering Committee under the Ministry of Education; his academic achievements leads in the research of history of Han-Tibetan relations, Tibetan-Yi Corridor, Xikang and Tibetan History, watchtowers in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and some other domains. In 2013, he was hired as a specially-appointed professor of "Yangtze River Scholar Program" under the Ministry of Education. Main research field: Tibetan history, Tibetan-Yi Corridor, history and society of Xikang and Tibet, history of nationalities in southwestern China, and history of Han-Tibetan relations.
