Sichuan University is one of China first higher education institutions that have established postdoctoral research stations. Sichuan University's postdoctoral program has now extended its academic range to twenty-eight disciplines, namely, Philosophy, Theoretical Economics, Science of Law, Chinese Language and Literature, History, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mechanics, Mechanical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Material Science and Engineering, Information and Communication Engineering, Computer Science and Technology, Civil Engineering, Hydraulic Engineering, Chemical Engineering and Technology, Light Industry Technology and Engineering, Environmental Science and Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Basic Medicine, Clinical Medicine, Stomatology, Public Health and Preventive Medicine, Pharmacy, Management Science and Engineering, and Business Management. Since the first nationwide recruitment of postdoctoral researchers in 1991, the gross number of Sichuan University's postdoctoral enrollment has reached over 675. The number of in-station postdoctoral researchers is 146.
 

　　Sichuan University provides postdoctoral researchers with advanced facilities for teaching and research and good living facilities. Supported and funded by the Ministry of Personnel, the National Supervisory Committee for Post-doctor Programs and the Sichuan Bureau of Personnel, SCU is constructing its postdoctoral program by strengthening the management and perfecting relevant rules and regulations to create a better working and living environment for postdoctoral researchers in the University.
