  1. Training Aim 

The aim of this undergraduate student training program is to provide professional-level understanding of the archaeology, foundational knowledge, and fundamental study skills of Archaeology so as to prepare students for careers in history and social science areas, including but not limited to archaeology research, teaching.

  1. Training Requirements

The undergraduate student should study the foundational knowledge, basic theory, and basic skills and methods in the field of Archaeology. Additionally, the student should undergo filed training in archaeology thinking and demonstrate an adequate level of ability to conduct archaeology  research, applied study.

The undergraduate should obtain the following knowledge and abilities:

1)      to master the foundational theories and basic knowledge of Ancient Chinese, History etc.;

2)      to master the basic knowledge, foundational principles, and research skills of archaeology;

3)      to know the general principles and knowledge of similar majors;

4)      to know the national laws and regulations about social science studies, the policy on archaeology -related studies, and intellectual property at home and abroad;

5)      to know the archaeology study frontiers,  and the latest studies in the field of Archaeology and the status of development of social science-related studies;

6)      to be able to comprehensively use a foreign language to use study for consulting Chinese and foreign data, retrieving documents, and accessing related information. Moreover, the student should be able to employ their mastery of a foreign language for study.

Key Courses for the Major: Introduction to Archaeology; Chinese Archaeology-1; Introduction to Museology; Chinese Archaeology-2; Chinese Archaeology-3; Techology of Archaeology; Field Araechology; Archaeology of Southwestern China Archaeology of Southwest of China; Archaeological Bibliography; Introduction to Protection and Management of Cultural Herutage.
  2. Basic Educational System and Period of Study: four years.
  3. Minimum Number of Credits Required for Graduation: 150.
  4. Graduation Certificate: Bachelor of History (B. H.) Degree.
